What Ledsten is built on.
The AI model, the official handbooks and the open-source software inside the app, with their licences.
The assistant
Ledsten’s assistant is Gemma 4, an AI model made by Google and released under the Apache License 2.0. The three versions are Gemma 4 E2B (Lite), E4B (Standard) and 26B A4B (Pro). The files Ledsten downloads are compressed versions published on Hugging Face by bartowski.
Official handbooks
These five documents come with the app in full, exactly as published. They are works of the US federal government, which are not protected by copyright in the United States (17 U.S.C. § 105). The Army manual is also marked “Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited.”
